Most records are of leaf-mines.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widespread and common. Recorded from all five vice-counties.
2013 (CHF): Mines are common throughout the county on Sallows (ie Salix caprea and cinerea). The egg is laid on the underside of the leaf. A contorted gallery then leads to a blotch which is small in relation to the side of the leaf. The situation however might not be quite a simple as this as other species of Salix may be mined and some mines have an upperside egg - this may yet prove to be a separate species.
