Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There has only been one confirmed recent record of this species in Yorkshire, previous records being from the mid 1960s at Thixendale (VC61) and Askham Bog (VC64) (YNU,1970).

2012 (CHF): Porritt mentioned this moth from several sites in the county but its fortunes have waned since then. It was last seen at Askham Bog in 1965 and the small population on the Wolds seems to have died out, the last record being in 1983. Some sites in the Midlands also seem to have lost this species. There is however a healthy population in North Lancashire close to the western edge of VC64 where this species should be looked for on limestone grassland.
