Similar species: Dark Marbled Carpet.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widespread and often common in lower areas and occasional elsewhere in all five vice-counties. This species is similar in appearance to C. citrata (Linnaeus) and they may occasionally be confused. However, citrata generally takes the place of this species on higher ground, although there is considerable overlap in some areas and both species seem to wander out from high population density sites.
2012 (CHF): The comments in Sutton and Beaumont are still valid. There was a marked decline in numbers in 2011.
