Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: The record from Little Horton, Bradford (VC63) on 14.9.1949 (Dearing, 1950) was based on a misidentification (J. Briggs, in litt.). This is a scarce southern species most unlikely to occur in Yorkshire.

Argus 52, 2006:
VC63. Bradway, Sheffield, 15.7.2005 (P Housley). NEW COUNTY RECORD.

Current status (HEB, 2011): A local southern moth, its occurrence on the outskirts of Sheffield (VC63) in 2005 is both surprising and intriguing. It is not known to be migratory and an accidental introduction seems unlikely. It is not expected to occur again.
