Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: The only recent records of this species in the County are from south of VC63, both in 1984. Previously this species had not been taken since Porritt (1983-86, 1904) when it was found mainly in VC63 but also in vice-counties 61, 62 and 64.

Argus 47, 2001-04:
VC64. Bellflask, 26.7.2002 (B&SM). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 56, 2008:
VC65. Thorpe Perrow arboretum, 4.7.2008 (CHF, JCW, DB et al.). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2012 (CHF): There has been a major range expansion to the north and west in the last ten years and we have recent records from all five VCs. It should now be possible to find this moth in beech-rich areas all over the county.
