Species Account

Most records are of larval cases.

Argus 47, 2001-04:
VC64. Drax, larval cases 25.4.2004, reared (EDC). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2013 (CHF): Still very local in the county but there have been an increasing number of records recently. The larvae form fairly characteristic cases, triangular in cross section and covered with fragments of plants, insects, mineral grains and other material. They are usually fairly low down. Several cases in Calderdale this year were found in south-facing hollows just above the roots on beech trees, and also on oaks though these were more difficult to find.
