Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: (Small Engrailed) This species has been recorded quite widely since 1970 but since most specimens have not been confirmed by dissection (as far as is known) there is almost certainly confusion with E. bistortata (Goeze). The distributions and relative frequencies of both these species in the County require investigation.
2012 (CHF): See comments under Engrailed. These two species (if they are in fact two species) cannot be told apart by dissection as suggested above.
