For the county, we have a total of 3715 records from 266 sites. First recorded in 1883.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Previously recorded as common in Raincliffe Wood, Scarborough (VC62) by T. Wilkinson (Porritt, 1883-86), none were recorded in Yorkshire in the present century until the single record given below [Spurn 1988]. However several were recorded in Lincolnshire in the 1960s and 1970s (Duddington & Johnson, 1983), so its reappearance is no great surprise.
Argus 56, 2008: An increase in records as this species spreads north and west. This year it has spread well into VC64 and can be found in all five vice-counties as we now have a record for VC65.
VC65. Hutton Conyers, 6.8.2008 (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
Current status (CHF, 2011): From a few scattered locations in the 1990s, it is has now spread across the county apart from the western fringes.
