Similar species: Part of a closely related group, 1184 Epiblema scutulana and 1186 Epiblema sticticana.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widespread and fairly common with records from all five vice-counties, but under-recorded as it has been regarded as a form of E. scutulana (Denis and Schiffermuller).
