Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: ...f. fulvana (Stephens) has been recorded occasionally in vice-counties 61 to 64.
Current status (TAB 2012): Last recorded in Yorkshire as a form of hohenwartiana in 1977. Confused with hohenwartiana, formerly regarded as a large, fulvous (i.e. dull brownish yellow) form of E. hohenwartiana, but genitalia features indistinguishable and unreliable. Larval foodplant important (feeds within flowerheads of Greater Knapweed, while hohenwartiana on Common Knapweed).
