For the county, we have a total of 1332 records from 353 sites. First recorded in 1886.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Often frequent to abundant on moorland and smaller numbers occur in lowland localities elsewhere. Recorded in all five vice-counties.
Current status (CHF, 2011): Still well distributed and common in the county. Numbers increased in the 1990s but have declined a little recently.
