Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Fairly widely recorded in VC63 and VC64 wherever larch plantations occur in woodlands but rather sparsely recorded in the rest of the County, especially in VC61, where larch is very local.

2012 (CHF): Most records are from VCs 62, 64 and 65 and it is less common in the south and east. Not seen in VC61 since 1995. Distinctive when fresh, worn specimens are easily confused with other species such as Grey Pug and Golden-rod Pug.
