Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: First discovered in Britain by T. Wilkinson who reared moths from larvae in pods of wood vetch from the cliffs north of Scarborough (VC62) (Porritt, 1883-86). All subsequent County records are from this general area in the triangle bounded by Scarborough, Pickering and Sandsend where it has been recorded fairly commonly at intervals over the years.
