Species Account
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: The only regular site for this species is Spurn (VC61) where it is well established. There have also been records from several new Yorkshire sites but most of these are fairly recent so it is not possible to say whether any of these might be from new colonies or whether they are merely strays. The record shown on map 157 in MBGBI 9 in VC62 (Wykeham, 11.7-13.7.1975) is almost certainly in error (PQW pers. comm.), and the two shown in VC63 have not yet been traced.
Current status (CHF, 2011): A contraction of range south-east and almost all recent records are from VC61. Healthy populations in Lancashire and south Cumbria however have started to spill over into the west of VC64 (Burton-in-Lonsdale 22.6.2010) so numbers of this species may bounce back.
