For the county, we have a total of 572 records from 143 sites. First recorded in 1884.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widespread in the southern half of the County as far north as York with records from vice-counties 61 to 64. In the south of VC63 evidence of larval feeding is apparent wherever reedmace occurs, even in small isolated clumps.

VC65. High Batts NR., pupae in Typha seedheads 15.6.2002 (HEB, CHF) and subsequently (JCW, SPW); Foxglove Covert, Catterick, larval feeding 19.7.2002; Hutton Conyers, 29.7.2002 and subsequent records (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
