Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Another species associated with low ground and human habitation. Recorded from all five vice-counties, most commonly in vice-counties 63 and 64 in sites where gardens and waste areas abound. In VC61 the larvae are often found on greater bindweed and nettle in such areas. This species is most common in the South and centre of England and is quite sparse towards the north of the County (Lorimer, map 153 in MBGBI 9).
2012 (CHF): Common and widespread across lowland areas of the county and uncommon in the north west. Numbers are stable.
