Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: First taken in the County in 1979 but not identified until aprilella was added to the British list in 1981 from moths taken in Hampshire and Wiltshire. Locally common in the south of VC63 where it has been reared regularly from the seedheads of Greater Knapweed.
