Similar species: Similar to other members of the family, but generally larger.

Beaumont, 2002:
VC63. Anston Stones Wood, 17.7.1999 (HEB). NEW COUNTY RECORD.

2013 (CHF): There have been several more records this year, all in the south-east of VC63. In common with several other members of this family, the larvae feed in bracket fungi. Frass hanging by silk threads below the fungus may indicate larvae within. This species appears to be spreading north.

Argus 69, 2013: There was previously only a single Yorkshire record, from a different VC63 locality in 1999.
VC61. North Ferriby, 17.7.2013 (IM). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
