Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: This migrant is often quite frequent in southern Britain but it was not recorded in Yorkshire until one was taken at Muston near Filey (VC61) by P.Q. Winter on 11.10.1978 (Bretherton & Chalmers-Hunt, 1979). One has since also been taken at Spurn (VC61) by B.R. Spence on 18.9.1982 (Bretherton & Chalmers-Hunt, 1983).

Argus 50, 2005:
VC62. Haxby, 10.10.2005 (TJC). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
VC65. Hutton Conyers, 12.10.2005 (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2012 (CHF): This species has turned up more frequently in recent years. In 2006 there was an exceptional influx with 39 records of 44 moths, mostly in VC61 but with records spread across four vice-counties.
