For the county, we have a total of 28 records from 23 sites. First recorded in 1859.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Quite widely distributed but not recorded from VC65.
2013 (CHF): There are scattered records across the county though we still have no record from VC65. This is another species whose larvae feed on bracket fungi, especially Piptoporus betulitinus, one of the commonest bracket fungi on birch. The markings of the adult are usually sufficiently distinctive to identify this species if care is taken.
