Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: First recorded at Ampleforth (VC62) on 5.5.1968 by S.L. Sutton (Jackson, 1969), this species may have always been present in the old birch woodland along the southern scarp of the North York Moors, but if so it certainly seems to have spread in the last few years.

Beaumont, 2002:
VC63. Treeton Wood, two 30.4.1994 (HEB), 25.4.2000 (HEB, IFC). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2012 (CHF): Local in birch woodland at the edges of the higher ground in VC62. This population continues up into Durham and Northumberland. There is also a small population in the south of VC63.
