Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Not recorded since Porritt (1883-86) when T. Wilkinson recorded it from Scarborough (VC62). Unlike H. rostralis (Linnaeus), this is still quite widespread in the South of England so it is conceivable that it could reappear in Yorkshire.
Current status (CHF, 2011): Last record 1883, unlikely to reappear in Yorkshire though the breeding populations in the south seem to be healthy. (NB, the Knaresborough record is an input error; there has only been the one county record)
