Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: No valid record, specimens from Spurn (VC61) reared from seeds and leaves of Annual Seablight and Sea Purslane (Michaelis, 1962) later proved to be dark S. nitentella (Fuchs) (HNM in litt.).

Argus 54, 2007:
VC61. Spurn NNR, 23.8.2007, gen. det. (BRS). NEW COUNTY RECORD.

Current status (HEB, 2011): A moth of salt-marshes and tidal estuaries. The first record for which details are currently available was from Spurn (VC61) in 2007; however this moth is shown as occurring in vice-counties 61 and 62 on map 98 in MBGBI, 2002 Vol.4 pt. 2. The origins of these inclusions on the distribution map are not known but they clearly pre-date the Spurn record.
