Species Account

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are few recent records of this species. It is only known to be breeding in the County at Spurn, VC61, where there is a long-established colony. Other Yorkshire records could be from small resident populations but could equally be migrants from the South of Britain or the Continent.

Beaumont, 2002: This moth, always scarce, has only been recorded once since 1989, the last record from the former County stronghold at Spurn was in 1986 (BRS).

Current status (CHF, 2011): Last record 1997. In serious national decline. Extinct in the county and unlikely to recolonise.
