Species Account

Most records are of leaf-mines.

Argus 47, 2001-04:
VC64. Pikeshaw Wood, Knaresborough, mine on sycamore 23.10.2003 (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 66, 2012:
VC65. Forcett, mines on sycamore 1.11.2012 (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2013 (CHF):This is a relatively new species to the British list, first recorded in Hampshire in 1914 and reaching Yorkshire in 1991. It is now widespread in the county but still a little local. The mine will not be confused as it is the only Stigmella species that mines on Sycamore. The mine is often rather small compared with the size of the leaf.
