For the county, we have a total of 21546 records from 719 sites. First recorded in 1883.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: This species seems to have declined slightly in some areas but is still fairly frequently recorded from vice-counties 61 to 64. There is only one VC65 record (Baldersby St James, RIS trap 315, TAP). This is a resident species but is probably reinforced by immigration in some years.
2012 (CHF): Common and widespread across the county with an increase in numbers in the last ten years. The second brood can be very numerous eg 410 at Escrick on 25.8.2006.
