For the county, we have a total of 397 records from 138 sites. First recorded in 1846.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are few recent sites for this species but in at least two of these it has been re-recorded and it appears well established. It has also been found at Low Coniscliffe, near Darlington, just over the Tees from east VC65 (Dunn & Parrack, 1986).
2012 (CHF): This species seems to have been present at a low density across Yorkshire since Porritt's time. Numbers have certainly increased recently and this has been most marked since 2000. We now get 20-30 records each year, mostly from the west and the north of the county. It is rarer in the lowland and this is reflected nationally. It emerges in October/November, hibernates, and reappears in the spring.
