Species Account


Similar species: Distinguished from 0425 Orchard Ermine Yponomeuta padella and 426 Apple Ermine Yponomeuta malinellus by the white forewings with white terminal cilia.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: A local moth, its distribution being limited by its foodplant, records away from the localities where spindle occurs may be due to confusion with Y. malinellus (Zeller).
